Me, packing for a trip of no more than four days, including travel days: Okay, I've packed one lace project and one sock project. The lace project is only halfway done, perfect for knitting on when I can spread out the pattern. The sock has at least three more inches before I have to start turning the heel, lots of knitting to keep me sane through plane rides and rambling family conversations. That should be plenty of knitting for all situations.

Also me: But what if . . . now hear me out. What if it's not.

Me: . . . That's a good point. (goes to find projects that aren't as far along and therefore will definitely be enough knitting for this trip. Probably.)
