I learned that there was an EpIX trailer over my lunch hour (thanks,
ladytharen ! Sorry for squeeing all over your comments). So after watching it through a few times and flailing more than somewhat, I made sure to show it to some of our after-school kids.
12-year-old: "Ohhhhh cooooool" *goes on a long ramble about the various things he would have liked to see throughout the Star Wars universe, up to and including evil Yoda*
8-year-old: "wait who is Skywalker?" Conversation drifts off to the point where he's very seriously telling me that the way to make a lightsaber is to get a stick and leave it on top of a volcano for 30 days (very specific on that) and then come back for it. I resisted the temptation to tell him that's how you get a Darth Vader.
The only discourse worth engaging in, TBH.

There's a thread going around Tumblr that's like, "Forget discourse we're all going to react to Star Wars like kids again. Pew pew pew I have a lightsaber." And it goes on from there. Makes me smile every time I stumble across it.
