Assigned to espionage on a planet where time moves at a different speed than the rest of the galaxy (among other oddities), Cassian finds himself losing it just a little. His only lifeline is the regular messages to and from Jyn, waiting at the orbital space station far above. This story does an amazing job of showing what a mindfuck this place is without anything overtly scary or horrific. Rebelcaptain, 6 chapters, 45k

AU based on the movie Annihilation. Recruited to be part of a team investigating an island cloaked in a mysterious shimmering haze, Jyn Erso doesn't want to let the rest of the team know that it was her father who created it. I've been shrieking about this story since I read it. There's lots of horror and gore and death (which is true to the movie it's based on, apparently), but I couldn't put it down. Oooo. This is one of my very favorite shots of Jyn Erso. She looks so quiet and contemplative. She could be praying or meditating or just reflecting, and the way the shadow falls across her face is a foreshadowing of what's to come. This piece of art replicated it beautifully. Gen, art
